Farewell Summer!
As we say goodbye to summer I wanted to do a quick recap and share some things that have happened the last few months.
Where I went
After getting back from Japan I was able to spend some time in Boston and Montreal (and am bidding the summer farewell from somewhere right now…more on that soon!).

What I ate
So. Much. Fruit. Seriously, the warmer it is the more I want to exist on produce alone. I also came back with some crucial ingredients for some of my favorite Japanese recipes so those deserve a shout out, too (matcha, somen, soba, onigiri, etc.).

What I read
I’m embarrassed to say that it’s not as much as I should have! All I read was “Girl, Stop Apologizing” and “Becoming” – I have a huge list of books to read in the fall. Seriously, I have to do better. The books I read were great but I should be logging a lot more.
What I listened to
I couldn’t stop with the Dakota Jones, Drake and Mos Def.
What I learned
Most important was that I need to work on my time management. I hit a few roadblocks this summer that helped me to realize that I wasn’t utilizing my time as well as I should have been. I also learned that I need to make more time for my friends – the Montreal trip was refreshing and really reminded me to be less feral. You can read more about how important a friend trip can be on my post here.

You know that’s a group of women in their 30’s rocking some friendship bracelets.
What I wish I had done
Let me start with saying that regret is a (mostly) useless emotion, in my opinion. That being said, I do wish that I had made reading more of a priority this summer. I’m also a bit ashamed to say that, despite living in the Ocean State, I did not actually make it to the beach once. Gah, who am I?

I also wanted to share a little bit more on what’s on the horizon (there’s some exciting stuff).
Where I’m headed
I might just be somewhere RIGHT NOW but you’ll have to follow me on Instagram and check out my stories to be sure. I have some more time in Boston & NYC coming up, along with trips to Guatemala and Belize (and possibly one more location before 2019 is done so cross your fingers for me).
What’s coming up for BGB
Hopefully continuing in the direction I’ve been headed! I’ll have some travel guides for the destinations mentioned above, some gallery posts, some photos shot with an actual camera (ummm, everything to this point has been via an iPhone and I don’t mean just the new XS I’m rocking right now – we’re going all the way back to the 5C!) and some recipe posts. I’ll also have some content geared towards the upcoming holidays and a few more lifestyle category posts as well. If there’s anything in particular you’re dying to read about make sure to drop me a line (comment or contact box, whatever!) and I’ll see if I can make it happen. There will be some guest blogging in the near future and I will be sharing more information on that soon.

So that’s my summer recap for now! I hope that your summer was filled with positivity and some fun. I would love to know how your summer went! What was the best thing you did? Where did you go? Drop me a comment below!
